Dear Julie,
Thank you so much for all you have done.
After hearing Simba and Sables heartbreaking story of abuse, starvation and neglect they were telling you, we can better understand some of the behaviors they were exhibiting. There are so many things you did for them and us.
With the issues and severe problems, we felt they could never be rehomed. We were, even after all we had done with rescuing, feeding, loving, spaying and neutering and consulting with an animal behaviorist that maybe having them put down would be a blessing to them. You were our last effort for rehabilititation.
Shortly (within an hr) of Simba and Sables consults with you explaining some things to us as well as things to them we saw an immediate change. Our most memorable change was when you told them the toys were for them to play with and share, then they started to pull all the chew toys and stuffies out of the basket. Within an hr they were learning to play and we were on the floor playing with them, pulling stuffies and dragging the toys along the floor for them to chase. Our living room which was once clean is now lovingly littered with stuffies and chew toys. We have to constantly look under cushions before sitting on something. It is wonderful!
We learned from you they are terrified of the dark, strange noises as well as never being let out of a building (barn or quanset?) to be outside and were afraid to go outside. That explained a lot of things. We now leave the light on over the stove and a low watt lamp burning in our bedroom. They have settled tremendously. We keep the tv and our voices at a lower level. Again, positive results. They now go out and lay in the sun on the deck. We are still working on getting them to pee on the grass. One day and step at a time.
Our biggest fears were Sable attacking our grand daughter and snapping at people. After hearing how the children were allowed to abuse them and throw them around it was understandable. You told her biting was not allowed and is a house rule, adding that when children are around she is to go to the bedroom or her safe place. The next week our grandchildren came over and she retreated to the bedroom and spent the afternoon napping on our bed. Staying away from them. We breathed a sigh of relief. Very positive results in such a short time. We love them and this is thier "furever" home. We are so happy to hear they love us. Had we not heard of you and consulted you, we are not sure how this story would have ended. Now this story has a VERY loving and happy ending.
We highly recommend talking to Julie and allowing her to talk to your animals. It will open up a whole new world of love and understanding. Thank you Julie!

Hi Julie, Thank you so much for helping find Candy, She had gotten out of the dog yard on Monday, as I was driving back home from New Jersey. I looked everywhere I could on foot and in the car. Then thru Julie S., I was able to connect with Julie A. She advised me to look on Phifer Rd and as I looked there - no Candy. Finally on Mother's Day at 11:45 PM I received a phone call from a very nice couple who said they thought they had Candy. She was on Phifer rd, just as Julie said. Thank you all so very much for finding my girl, she is such a sweet dog. Thank you again, Julie A.
